Coronavirus resources

In order to keep each other safe, save lives and support the NHS, the bishops of England and Wales have suspended public worship.

What will change

  • Our churches are closed
  • Masses will continue but with no congregation physically present, during the week and on Sundays. Other celebrations, such as Stations of the Cross or Rosary are also suspended
  • Your obligation to attend Sunday Mass is also suspended temporarily

What won’t change

  • Priests will continue to say Mass in private
  • Our live-streamed Masses will continue at St Bede’s

Join in our live-streamed Masses

Participate in our Masses at home via our live webcam. Follow the readings of the Mass on the Universalis website.

Instead of receiving Jesus in physical form, make this Spiritual Communion instead:

My Jesus,
I believe that you are present in this Holy Sacrament of the altar.
I love you above all things
and I passionately desire to receive you into my soul.
Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
come spiritually into my soul
so that I may unite myself wholly to you now and forever.
Amen.

Praying at home

Take time each day for prayer. This simple liturgy could help you structure your time with God.

Download Pray as you Go. Ten minute daily reflections combining music, scripture and some questions for reflection.

Reflect on Sunday’s readings using the “prego” from the Jesuit community in North Wales.
